What is Pivot Mode in the Data Explorer?
**Pivot Mode **is a display setting that collapses your grouped data into a single aggregated row per group, giving you a clean, side-by-side comparison of all your campaigns or automations at once. Toggle it on using the Pivot Mode switch at the top of the Print fields panel. Pivot Mode requires at least one Row Group to be active. It uses that grouping as the basis for aggregation. With it enabled, the table reduces to one row per group (for example, one row per automation), with Email and Website metrics displayed in grouped column headers. A Column Labels section also becomes available, where you can drag fields to further cross-tabulate your data.
How to enable it
- Set up a Row Group first (e.g. drag Automation name into Row Groups).
- Toggle Pivot Mode on at the top of the Print fields panel.
- The table collapses to one aggregated row per group.
- Optionally drag a field into Column Labels to break data out further across columns.
A few examples when Pivot Mode might be of convenience
- Group by Automation name and enable Pivot Mode to see a single row per flow with total Sent, Open rate, Click rate, and Revenue side by side
- Group by Mailing type in Pivot Mode to instantly compare triggered vs. bulk performance on one screen
- Group by Market to benchmark region-by-region performance across all your email and website metrics in one table
Your highest-level view, instantly
Scrolling through individual sends to understand overall automation performance is time-consuming. Pivot Mode gives you the 10,000-foot view in one table — perfect for performance reviews, stakeholder reporting, or quickly identifying which flows to prioritize.
Don't overlook Column Labels
Once Pivot Mode is on, try dragging a field (like Mailing type or Market) into the Column Labels area to break your aggregated data out across an additional dimension. This turns your report into a true cross-tab, letting you compare groups against each other across multiple categories at once.
