How do Row Groups work in Data Explorer?

Row Groups let you aggregate and summarize your email data by any campaign dimension. To add a Row Group, open the Print fields panel on the right and drag any Campaign field (such as Automation name, Message name, or Mailing type) down to the Row Groups section at the bottom of the panel. The table instantly reorganizes around that grouping, with each group collapsible so you can drill into individual sends or view the rolled-up totals. The active Row Group appears as a tag above the table, and you can remove it at any time by clicking the × on that tag.

How to set one up

  1. Open your Data Explorer report.
  2. In the Print fields panel, find the Campaign field you want to group by (e.g. Automation name).
  3. Drag it down to the Row Groups area at the bottom of the panel.
  4. The table reorganizes by that grouping. Expand any row to see the individual sends within it.

Here's how Row Groups makes your life (a bit) easier

  • Drag Automation name into Row Groups to see aggregated open rates, click rates, and revenue for each of your flows at a glance
  • Group by Mailing type to compare how triggered campaigns perform against bulk sends overall
  • Group by Market to quickly benchmark engagement across different regions without building separate reports

From rows to insights in seconds

Scrolling through hundreds of individual sends makes it hard to spot patterns. Row Groups collapse that noise into a clean summary view, so you can compare automation performance side by side and immediately see which flows are working and which need attention.

Combine with Pivot Mode. Enable Pivot Mode alongside a Row Group to get a fully aggregated, one-row-per-group view. This is the fastest way to compare top-line metrics across all your automations or campaigns in a single table, with Email and Website metrics neatly grouped by category.
